Sooo much great fic, so little time. I do love the holidays for all the fests; I had noticed a certain dirth of H/D fic during November, should have remembered that everyone would be writing for the various fests. And not just H/D, but Albus/Gellert too -- score!! :D At some point I'll do a rec post or something.
I can't wait for Torchwood to start again. The spoilers I've read have me just itching to watch. Too long to wait, argh! It's weird - while Captain Jack is my favorite, I have to admit that I'm powerfully attracted to Gwen. Which is very, very strange, because I'm usually totally not into women at all. Like, at all. I think it's her eyes, actually - they're so big, they kinda remind me of Elijah. Plus she's not seriously underweight like most actresses, so that's probably part of it too. Oh, and I love her accent. Just... guh. |

| Phoenix Flies Entry |

Well, my Harry/Draco art for the phoenix_flies fic and art fest has been posted. *chews fingernails* Hopefully it's liked! But even if it isn't, I so enjoyed doing it! I learned alot on it, possibly moreso than on any other piece of computer art I've ever done. Mind the rating on it though, it's NC17 and obviously slash, so don't click on it if you don't think you'll be into that sort of thing ;D
In other news in my life... well, there really isn't any news in my life. I guess that the only thing to say its that I'm actually looking forward to something at work - it's looking likely that I'm going to be doing commercial editing work on a high-end hotel in downtown Toronto! It'll be a nice change from bar mitzvahs, I must say :) |

As usual, the Toronto International Film Festival (happening 15 days hence) is bringing Hollywood to Canada. The names of the guests were announced today, and the names that jumped out at me were: Clive Owen, Colin Farrell, Brad Pitt, Viggo Mortensen, Cate Blanchett, Eric Bana, Ewan McGregor, Gael García Bernal, George Clooney, Gus Van Sant, Jake Gyllenhaal, Joaquin Phoenix, Jude Law, Liev Schreiber, Liam Neeson, Michael Pitt, Stuart Townsend and Uma Thurman.

Can't wait! I don't know if I'll be able to do any of it this year however, my life situation at the moment is on the brink of either going very bad or going much, much worse, so I won't know what each day brings until it's all cleared up, which could take awhile. But, it will be cool seeing the news each day about who's here, who's been sighted around town, and who's doing what and with whom :)

This is just awesome. Just an unbelievably awesome fic. The best thing about it is that it's 100% up-to-date cannon compliant. And it's so dark in a gentle way, just beautiful.

| Get in on the IJ action |

I gotta say, my Insanejournal flist is just jumping with the NC17 action. And just jumping in general! I have tentatively decided to focus on IJ as opposed to GJ and JF. JF is constantly having server issues with the huge jump in LJ refugees, and GJ is rumoured to be just as unfriendly towords the pr0n as LJ is. Then there's the decreasing of free icons from 2,000 to 100 with no notice, when IJ is actually increasing their benefits in a move to entice LJ refugees. They actually want us at IJ! I like that. And the fact that IJ, as I said, is just buzzing with activity, and I'm on only one tenth the communities that I'm on in LJ, with no more than 19 friends compared to my something like 95 on LJ.
I will continue to keep up with LJ though, and cross-posting to there, as most of my flist is not moving, as they are mostly in the LOTR fandoms which has been by and large untouched by the current censorship issues. Also, while IJ is jumping for the higher-rated art and fic, LJ is now going crazy with the G and PG rated stuff. And while I simply don't read G and PG fic, I do love the lower-rated art, especially the DH chapter art, and I don't want to miss that as it's not seeming to be being posted to IJ.
I'm really tempted to join in on the Bring Back the Porn challange on IJ - I'm thinking of maybe an art of Harry, er, wanking? Could be fun :) I haven't broken out the tablet for awhile and it's getting dusty. |
